Africa Expedition
Anthropologist and modern day African explorer Julian Monroe Fisher announces a five year - nine expeditions - Ethnographical research project deep in the heart of Africa.

The objective of ‘The Great African Expedition’ will be to compare the 19th century Ethnographical research documentation of the African tribal kingdoms along the rivers and lakes gathered during the expeditions of the Victorian age explorers with the realities of 21st century Africa.

Julian Monroe Fisher is a Fellow of The Royal Geographical Society in London and an International Fellow of The Explorers Club in New York City. Between 2007 and 2011 Fisher had the honour of carrying the Explorers Club Flag on five consecutive research expeditions to the African continent.

The Africa Expedition

 

The Africa Expedition is het verhaal van twee vrienden die een reis van ruim 50.000 kilometer maken in hun Land Rover Defender 110 om aandacht te creëren voor microfinanciering. De expeditie zal vertrekken uit Nederland en de omtrek van Afrika volgen. We zullen er zo’n 8 tot 12 maanden over doen, en ongeveer 46 landen aandoen.

Jeffrey en Twan zijn beiden studenten op Business School Notenboom in Eindhoven, en leden van Algemene Studentenvereniging SSRE en Het Illustere Dispuut Quare. Ondanks de grote verschillen in karakter kunnen ze het goed met elkaar vinden. De reis is geboren uit de wens om, na hun afstuderen, iets van de wereld te zien. Deze reis is voert hen langs zowel de prachtige oostkust van Afrika, als de avontuurlijke westkust.
